An early Christmas present arrived this week for everyone involved in holidays in Peru, with the news that three of Cusco's hotels have been awarded high rankings in the annual Reader's Choice Awards in the US. The Monasterio was voted the number one hotel in South America, while the Libertador Palacio del Inca came in at number 12. We know from experience that both are fantastic hotels and so it'w worth considering treating yourself if you are visiting Cusco as part of your holiday in Peru.

And since Cusco has also just been voted in the top 10 cities to visit in the Americas then why wouldn't you! Cusco came in at number 6 in the recent Condé Nast Traveler awards, showing that as well as being a base for Machu Picchu, Cusco is well worth a few days in its own right as part of your Peru holiday.
