Planning a Peru Holiday trekking the Inca Trail this summer? Well, you'd better get a move on! All of the passes for the Inca Trail this year are going really quickly! Permits for July and August are completely booked-up and September is looking very busy now too. Even normally unusual times for trekking the famous trail to Machu Picchu like November and December are starting to get filled up so you really do need to get your name down soon!
This certainly isn't something just affecting RealPeru - all companies are in a similar position as permits for the Inca Trail are controlled centrally and each permit can only be applied for in the name of the person wishing to do the trek. This is a good thing in general because companies can no longer just bulk buy in advance but it does mean you need to let us know as soon as possible if you're thinking of doing the trek this year - we'd hate you to be disappointed!
If we are unable to secure a permit for the exact dates you want then we can always offer plenty of alternatives to the 'classic' Inca Trail. There are treks that also end up at Machu Picchu such as the less travelled but in many ways more exciting route through the Sacred Valley via Salkantay, or something totally different like our great treks in Colca Canyon or to Choquequirau
