PERU HOLIDAY AND TRAVEL NEWS

PERU HOLIDAY BULLETIN - 08/06/06

A mixed bag of news affecting Peru holidays today, as we keep you up-to-date with all the latest bits and pieces which could potentially have an effect on your holiday in Peru this year.

First of all, there is the news that the renovation work on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu which began last month has now been completed. This is expected to dramatically reduce the numbers of landslides and rockfalls which can occur on the trail during the rainy season. There is more work planned for next year which should hopefully put an end to these problems altogether and mean problem free Peru holidays all year round!

On a less positive note, the government has increased the price of the entrance fee to Machu Picchu for all holiday makers (not just people trekking the Inca Trail) by a whopping 50%, starting on August 1st 2006. The good news for you all is that we won't be increasing our prices until 2007 so you have an extra 5 months to enjoy a holiday in Peru before the price rise kicks in!
