Extend your Peru holiday to Brazil and Bolivia

Peru, Brazil and Bolivia holidays

Peru is an amazing country, and any holiday in Peru will only cover some of it, but of course there are some amazing sights to be seen in Peru's neighbours as well. Top of many people's list is a trip to the fabulous Galapagos Islands but we wouldn't be at all surprised to find that something in Brazil or Bolivia had caught your eye...

Whether its the thought of strutting your stuff at the famous Rio carnival, or standing in awe before the colossal Iguazu falls, Brazil has it all from stylish cities to natural wonders. Meanwhile, Bolivia boasts some of the strangest and most beautiful landscapes on the planet, like the breathtaking Salar de Uyuni salt flats, together with a real off-the-beaten-track experience that can't be beaten.

Time in either Bolivia or Brazil (or both!) can easily be added to your holiday in Peru, so just let us know if anything here appeals and we'll send you a full holiday itinerary!

Bolivia

Lake Titicaca Lake Titicaca - Bolivian style - 3 days

The Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca is amazing, with the floating reed islands of the Uros and the clear blues of waters and skies, but many people feel the Bolivia side of the lake is even more dramatic. Certainly the chance to spend a night amid the Inca villages of the Island of the Sun can't be sniffed at...

La Paz and Tiwanaku La Paz and Tiwanaku - 3 days

The Bolivian capital of La Paz, made famous in the James Bond film, Casino Royale, is one of the strangest capital cities on earth, at 4000m above sea-level you are encircled by mountain peaks and surrounded by grand, if crumbling, colonial buildings. Nearby, the pre-Inca Tiwanaku ruins show the remains of a former capital city in this harsh environment.

Salar de Uyuni salt flats Salar de Uyuni - 6 days

Probably Bolivia's biggest draw, the utterly magnificent and totally bizarre Uyuni salt flats are an enormous inland sea of white salt, studded with red, yellow and green lakes and enormous mountain peaks - it feels like a totally different planet!

Brazil

Capital of samba, capital of carnival, Rio is one of the world's great cities and it's very easy to visit from Peru. You can enjoy a stroll along the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, enjoy the panoramic views from the statue of Christ the Redeemer, or take in a football match at the Maracaca.
