The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of Peru's star attractions and it's not hard to see why. Although the altitude can be testing, the trek itself is suitable for just about everybody and offers not only beautiful scenery and unique wildlife but also an unparalleled way to approach the magical lost city of Machu Picchu. Not only do you get a tremendous feeling of satisfaction but you also get to see this stunning site before the trainloads of tourists arrive from Cusco!
We offer a range of treks to Machu Picchu, as well as the 'classic' Inca Trail, some easier and some more testing but what doesn't change is the quality of equipment we use, the experience and friendliness of our guides and staff, and the amazing experience that our customers come away with. Trekking in Peru's Central Andes
The Central Andes around Huaraz offer the best high-altitude trekking in Peru and indeed some of the best in the world! Really, there's nowhere to compare except the Himalayas and with the current problems in Nepal this just isn't an option for many people. Maybe we're biased, but we think some of the hiking in the Huayhuash and the Blanca is better than anything on the sub-continent anyway!
Each range (Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Huayhuash) offers a wide variety of hiking options, from day treks to treks of over a week and we can help you with all of them. For full details of our treks in the Central Andes, click here or if you'd like to see a holiday involving a full acclimatisation schedule and a 9-day trek in the Huayhuash, click here to see a sample itinerary.
Other trekking in Peru
Of course, this isn't the end of it, as there are lots of other great opportunities for trekking in Peru, from descending into the deepest canyons in the world to steamy trekking through the Amazon rainforest. We can help you with all of these trips, and in each location you benefit from using our expert guides so you get to see all the best that Peru has to offer.
