Reserva Amazonica - A slice of jungle luxury

Reserva Amazonica

The undisputed queen of Peru's jungle lodges, and operated by the luxury Inkaterra group, the Reserva Amazonica lies in its very own private reserve and in our opinion has the highest standards of any of Peru's jungle lodges.

You have a private cabin with full ensuite facilities of course, but the personalised attention doesn't end there. You can actually completely plan your own itinerary while staying at Reserva Amazonica, choosing from a huge list of possible excursions, from relaxing river trips to spookier night treks.

One of our favourite excursions at the Reserva Amazonica is their extensive canopy walk, with a series of walkways stretching from tree to tree high in the rainforest canopy, and giving a variety of views and wildlife impossible to achieve from the ground - a fantastic way to enjoy the rainforest!

Sample Itinerary

Travel to Reserva Amazonica Day One - Into the jungle

This morning we will pick you up and take you to the airport to catch a flight down into the jungle, to Puerto Maldonado. After boarding motorized canoes, we travel downriver to the lovely Madre de Dios river, along which we travel for a short time before arriving at the Reserva Amazonica's private reserve. We will then have a short briefing session and, if you like, some time to enjoy some of the trails around the lodge.

Reserva Amazonica Day Two - Choose your own itinerary

Today is completely up to you! There is a huge variety of excursions to choose from, from quarter and half-day visits to some of the rainforest and lakes near the lodge, to full-day excursions into the Tambopata Reserve. On all excursions you will be accompanied by expert local guides to make sure you get the most out of this amazing environment.

Out of the jungle Day Three - Last Day in the Jungle

After some time this morning for a last chance to see some of the reserve's wildlife, we will take you back down the Madre de Dios to Puerto Maldonado. During the river trip back downstream, families of Capybaras are often spotted on the banks of the river. On arrival in Puerto Maldonado we will take you to the airport for a flight back out of the jungle.
